Felt waistcoat workshop
Come and learn the ancient craft of wet felting!
Using techniques that have been used since our pre-historic ancestors, felt is considered a ‘pre-textile’ and is the oldest fabric on earth other than using animal skins
This is an in-depth workshop of 3 full days
We will learn how to process and card wool fibres, spending quite some time processing enough wool for one waistcoat
We will then felt 3 panels (one back panel amd two front panels)
On the third day we will sew the panels together to create a tailored garment especially for you.
You will use your preferences to create a design you feel happy with, and I will make a uniquely tailored pattern using your measurements so you leave the workshop with a beautifully tailored garment fit for your body.

•All wool needed
•Sheepskin Collar
•wooden buttons/horn toggles
•all sewing materials, felt materials required
•Snacks and tea
NOT included:
•lunch
• Felted wild wool collar
*please bring waterproofs incase of bad weather and slip on shoes like crocs
NOTE: this listing is for the deposit only, the full price for 3 full days and all materials is
£300
concessions available for those on low incomes (limited spaces available)
£100 booking fee
remaining £200 must be paid by 3 weeks before the course start date

This 3 day course will be in Buckfastleigh, Dartmoor.
There is an option to camp on the land where the workshop will be, either in tents or live-in van.
If you wish to camp you are welcome to arrive thursday 15th May in the evening to set up your camp and land.
We will have a fire to heat up the water for felting, which campers will be welcome to cook there evening meal on. It may be a good idea to bring your own camping cooking stove and equipment. There will be communal facilities available but they will be quite basic.
